General information
Following nearly 30-year tradition of Springs Schools, it is our great pleasure to invite you to participate in the 10th School on Acousto-Optics and Applications which will be held in Sopot from 12th of May till 15th of May, 2008. The 10th School on Acousto-Optics and Applications focuses on all physical aspects of light and sound interaction. Since 1980, the series of nine Springs Schools organized every three years sought recognition as an excellent opportunity to share experience and new ideas in acousto-optics. What is more, the Schools have always been providing a platform for networking and developing new partnerships among acousto-opticians.
Since 1970, when the University of Gdańsk was founded, acoustics and acousto-optics belong to the main research topics in the Institute of Experimental Physics.

The programme of the conference comprises both invited and contributed presentations, a poster session, a round table discussion and exhibition from industries. Moreover, an attractive social programme for the participants and accompanying persons as well as technical visits will be organised.
The School will be held at Imperial Hotel in Sopot, which together with Gdańsk and Gdynia forms the agglomeration called Tri-City. With its clean, sandy beaches and Art Nouveau architecture, Sopot is one of the most popular holiday destinations in Poland. You will enjoy unique micro-climate of the spa resort. As the town offers a wide range of entertainment, you will also find there a lot of interesting things and places to see.
