Staff, students and PhD students of the University of Gdańsk who speak Chinese will be able to improve their language skills during free online workshops on Chinese language and culture organised by the Confucius Institute in partnership with the University of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (UCASS).
The online classes will take place in the winter semester of 2021/2022 and will be led by qualified Chinese teachers (trained to teach Chinese as a foreign language) from the Confucius Institute's partner university, the University of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (UCASS).
- 'It is the first time that such classes are organised at the Confucius Institute. The initiative came from the partner university UCASS, which will finance 100% of the project costs,' - says dr Magdalena Łągiewska, the Director of the Confucius Institute. - 'The exact schedule and frequency of meetings are still being worked out, but it is already known that the classes will focus on cultural issues, such as Chinese architecture and monuments, tea ceremony, calligraphy, Chinese literature and media in China.'.
The offer is addressed exclusively to employees, students and PhD students of UG who already know Chinese.
- 'I would like to emphasise that this is not a Chinese language course, but a class which will allow the student to improve their previously acquired language skills. Their main goal is to prepare for participation in international Chinese language competitions,' - adds dr Magdalena Łągiewska.
Those interested are asked to fill in the form (https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=n1qaLbdpQEmhp) until 31 August 2021.
The number of places is limited, therefore only determined persons are asked to apply. The planned end date of the classes is February 2022.
