Times Higher Education World University Rankings – UG listed in 'Arts and Humanities' category

The University of Gdańsk, in the Arts and Humanities domain rankings published on November 3, 2021, takes the 5th position among Polish universities.

In the field of Arts and Humanities, our University is listed among 8 Polish universities and is ranked 5th behind Warsaw University (ranked 201-250 in the world), Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań and Jagiellonian University (ranked 301-400) and Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń (ranked 401-500 in the world). The University of Gdańsk is ranked fifth in the table of Polish universities in the range 501+ in the world, followed by the University of Łódź, the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University and the University of Wrocław.

A total of 606 universities from around the world were ranked in this category this year, with the greatest contribution to the development of disciplines such as art, performing arts, design, languages, literature, linguistics, history, philosophy, theology, architecture and archaeology.

It is worth noting the high position of UG in the International Outlook criterion, where The University of Gdańsk takes first place among Polish universities conducting research and education in disciplines related to the arts and humanities.

The WUR 'by subject' ranking includes more and more universities every year. They are based on precisely developed indicators, such as those used to create the general Times Higher Education World University Ranking, but the methodology of their use has been calibrated to fit individual disciplines.
