UG Senate appeal on vaccination and certification

Senators of the University of Gdańsk passed, during today's Senate meeting, a resolution which is an appeal on vaccination and safety of the University's academic community.

A sharp rise in covid cases and deaths is also evident at the University, although not on such a dramatic scale as nationwide. The latest figures (and these are changing by the hour) presented to the Senate by the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, prof. Arnold Kłonczyński, show that about 250 students and 38 UG staff are in isolation.

The resolution adopted by the Senate of the University of Gdańsk on 25.11.2021 reads, among other things, a request for employees and students to voluntarily present certificates confirming that they have received the full vaccination cycle. As assured by the Rector prof. Piotr Stepnowski, the information presented will be secured under RODO regulations.

The Dean of the Intercollegiate Faculty of Biotechnology UG and GUMed prof. Ewelina Król thanked for the initiative. Support for the resolution was also expressed by representatives of the Students' and PhD Students' Parliament and employee trade unions present in the hall.

Those who decide to provide information about the vaccination have until 01.12.2021 to do so.

At the same time, we would like to remind you that the vaccination centre is still open in the former Rektorat building.
