
Joint research projects, student and academic staff mobility, and cooperation with the socio-economic environment: these were some of the issues discussed during the meeting with a delegation from Germany, which took place on 27 February 2025 at the University of Gdańsk.
The aim of the talks was to discuss the prospects for cooperation between the University of Gdańsk and research institutions in Saxony-Anhalt, one of Germany's 16 federal states. It was agreed that the priority areas of cooperation would include bilateral exchanges of students and academic and teaching staff, joint research projects and the intensification of relations with the socio-economic environment.
The delegation visiting our university included: prof. Armin Willingmann, Minister for Research, Energy, Climate Protection and Environment in the government of Saxony-Anhalt, and Cornelia Pieper, German Consul General in Gdańsk.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the University of Gdańsk, including: Vice-Rector for Development and Finance dr hab. Paweł Antonowicz, prof. UG, Director of the UG Science Office dr Katarzyna Świerk and Representative for Strategic Projects UG dr hab. Piotr Sliż, prof. UG.
The meeting allowed for an exchange of experiences and opened up new opportunities for cooperation that will contribute to the further development of the University of Gdańsk.
