Three days of lectures, seminars, discussions and presentations of innovative solutions in the energy sector - the Power Connect event took place from 18 to 20 March 2026, with the University of Gdańsk playing an active role. The University had its own stand, which attracted considerable interest from visitors. Student research societies in physics, chemistry and economics presented their projects and initiatives, demonstrating the practical application of knowledge and an innovative approach to science. During the Education and Career Day, dr Jakub Neumann, prof. UG, gave an inspiring presentation on artificial intelligence.

The University’s presence at the fair was another opportunity to highlight the importance of collaboration between the academic community and the business sector. The University presented its offerings for business, including the platform biznes.ug.edu.pl, building relationships with representatives from various sectors and highlighting the potential for joint research and development projects.

As part of Education and Career Day, the Vice-Dean for Development of the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics dr Jakub Neumann, prof. UG (currently also Director of the Interdisciplinary Laboratory for Artificial Intelligence Applications at the University of Gdańsk), who spoke about the role of artificial intelligence in mathematics, physics and computer science, emphasising the growing importance of new technologies in science and education.

The University of Gdańsk’s participation in the event can be considered a great success – both in terms of visitor numbers at the stand and the number of contacts made. As noted by the Vice-Rector for Development and Finance dr hab. Paweł Antonowicz, prof. UG, the university is developing dynamically, consistently strengthening its cooperation with business, particularly in the energy sectors.

'Such initiatives open up new prospects for students, researchers and external partners, strengthening the University of Gdańsk’s position as a modern and open academic centre,' emphasised the Vice-Rector.
