During the Assembly of the Association, which took place on September 2 this year. The Rector of the Gdańsk University of Technology, prof. Krzysztof Wilde handed over the chairmanship of Fahrenheit University to prof. Marcin Gruchała, Rector of the Medical University of Gdańsk.
Also present at the meeting were prof. Piotr Stepnowski, Rector of the University of Gdańsk, Chairmen of the University Councils: Paweł Orłowski (GUMed), Sławomir Halbryt (PG), prof. UW Maciej Duszczyk (University of Gdańsk) as well as the Director of the Fahrenheit University, prof. Adriana Zaleska-Medynska, and prof. Michał Markuszewski (GUMed) and prof. Dariusz Mikielewicz (PG). At the beginning of the meeting, a resolution was unanimously adopted to confirm prof. Marcin Gruchała, Rector of GUMed, as President of the Union Assembly.

Joint historic opening of the academic year
The first part of the meeting discussed the upcoming events, including the most important one - the joint opening of the academic year. It will be the first time that the Medical University of Gdańsk, Gdańsk University of Technology and the University of Gdańsk will officially open another academic year together. A detailed plan of the event was presented by Justyna Borkowska, Head of the PG Promotion Department. The city authorities and other Gdańsk universities have been invited to take part in the inauguration. Activities related to the ceremony are planned both on ul. Długa and at the European Solidarity Centre. Detailed information will soon be published via Fahrenheit Universities' communication channels.
Other promotional activities planned for the rest of this year were also discussed, such as FarU's participation in the Infoshare technology conference in October and the recording of the next Conversations with Fahrenheit podcast.

Joint Economic Convention
Later in the meeting, participants discussed a draft resolution to expand the Economic Convention, so far organised by the Technical University of Gdańsk, to include the other universities of the Association of Fahrenheit Universities (Medical University of Gdańsk and University of Gdańsk). Szczepan Gapiński, Secretary of the Joint Economic Convention, spoke about the details during the meeting. The continuation of dr Zbigniew Canowiecki's term of office as chairman of the Joint Economic Convention was confirmed, followed by the unanimous adoption of a resolution.
The next Joint Economic Convention is scheduled for the second half of October. This cyclical event acts as a platform for exchange between the scientific and economic communities. Every year, representatives of both circles discuss topics related to the economic development of the region and the country. Nurturing the links between business and science, also in the form of organised seminars for entrepreneurs, makes it possible to exploit the potential of the three universities and develop the entire region.
In the next speech, prof. Dariusz Mikielewicz, a correspondent member of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Vice-Rector for Organisation and Development of the PG, together with prof. Adriana Zaleska-Medynska summarised the activities carried out as part of the project entitled: 'Supporting University Consolidation Processes'. The next steps related to the implementation of the assumptions adopted in the project and further scenarios of activities supporting the consolidation of the University were also discussed.
Subsequently, a meeting of the Fahrenheit Universities Association Assembly is scheduled for December 2022.
