UG graduate about working in the Maritime Transport Industry

Dominik Landa, commercial director of Deepwater Container Terminal Gdańsk (DCT), will be the guest of Radio MORS Economic Index programme. The graduate of the Faculty of Transport and Logistics at the University of Gdańsk encourages current students to take an interest in job opportunities in the maritime transport industry. The programme will air on Wednesday, January 27 at 11 a.m. and will be repeated on Friday, January 29 at 1 p.m.

- Over 1000 people currently work at DCT, says Dominik Landa, a guest of Radio Mors. - Along with the development of both the terminal and the industry itself, the employment profile is changing. This has to do with the development of technology. As part of the new phases of the DCT expansion, we will be looking for more IT, automation, electrical and mechanical engineers. Of course, we will also need people to work in the operational, purchasing, financial and commercial departments. In the past, ports were not associated with progress and high technology, now we need well-educated people.

Dominik Landa will also answer questions on the economic situation in maritime transhipment in 2020 and forecasts for this year. The issue of ecology at the terminal, the importance of road and rail transport, as well as the combination of different modes of transport, the so-called intermodal, will also be raised.
