Ernest Otocki, a student at the Faculty of Management at the University of Gdańsk, was the winner of the national competition on the Score Hunter platform, organised by the Credit Information Bureau. The educational platform uses elements of gamification to educate in the areas of building financial credibility, credit scoring and personal data security.
Score Hunter is an educational platform prepared by the Bureau of Credit Information (BIK), which aims to draw attention to issues that are important from the point of view of everyone who intends to reach for credit in the future, such as building financial credibility, protecting personal data, or freezing a lost identity card, and thus avoiding the consequences of extorting credit on our identity.
- 'I found out about the competition by accident. It took place during one of the last lectures from microeconomics, which was conducted by dr Mariusz Chmielewski. The premise of this information was the opportunity to earn a + for activity during classes. It was awarded to those who scored at least 300 points (out of a possible 355),' - says Ernest Otocki, a first-year full-time student of management studies at UG. - 'I think that the form of the competition itself is very well chosen. It combines the opportunity to gain knowledge with rivalry. In addition, it has a nice graphic design and, what is also important, the possibility of comparing one's results with other people - all this I consider to be assets,' he adds.
As the UG student admits, building financial credibility and data security are topics he is particularly interested in.
- 'Above all because I can use the knowledge I have gained in my life,' admits Ernest Otocki. - 'Data security is an extremely important issue, especially as my privacy is extremely important to me. I want to avoid at all costs the possibility of my identity being stolen. For this reason, data security has become an important part of my life.'
Winners of the 7th Score Hunter
The Score Hunter platform uses elements of gamification, and using it involves completing successive tasks on building your credit history and keeping your records safe. The method is attractive - videos, expert advice, questions and quizzes for which points are awarded.
- 'For four years I have been encouraging students to take part in Score Hunter competitions and in each edition, about 300 people, both full-time and extramural students, apply. We have already achieved several successes, this year the winner was a student of microeconomics, three years ago, for example, our student took second place,' - says dr Mariusz Chmielewski from the Department of Enterprise Economics, supervisor of students using the Score Hunter educational platform.
