The Senate of the University of Gdańsk unanimously supported the resolution - Declaration of solidarity with Ukraine.
- 'The situation has changed dramatically. We are dealing with a dramatic conflict beyond our borders,' - said prof. dr hab. Piotr Stepnowski, Rector of UG during today's meeting of the UG Senate. - 'UG can be involved in helping Ukraine. We may be asked to provide support to potential refugees. I appeal to students to prepare themselves to receive students from Ukraine.'.
UG's position will be sent to KRASP.

Declaration of solidarity with Ukraine
On the basis of § 28 section 1 point 25 of the Statute of the University of Gdańsk of 13 June 2019 (with amendments) – the following is adopted:
§ 1.
The Senate of the University of Gdańsk, through its long-standing cooperation with the academic community in Ukraine, the presence of Ukrainian students and employees as members of our community, and its concern for mutual European values such as freedom, equality and justice, feels entitled to condemn unequivocally Russia’s military aggression against independent Ukraine and to express solidarity with the citizens of Ukraine in this difficult period of struggle to uphold the sovereignty and integrity of their country.
This statement is also a declaration of participation in all programmes of the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange to be established in an offer of support for Ukrainian citizens who study and work in Poland.
§ 2.
The Resolution shall enter into force on the date on which it is adopted.
