The collection at the faculties is still ongoing!

On February 24, the Senate of the University of Gdańsk condemned Russia's attack on Ukraine, and in the following days, the University community took various actions to help the victims of this war. An example of such actions is the collections organised by students. Virtually every faculty of UG is collecting items needed in Ukraine. Currently, more than 500 shipments full of clothes, hygiene products, medicines, food and military goods have already left our university.

'Every day we update the list of things that are needed and people are really driven by this. When I add something to the list in the morning, someone already brings it the same day,' - says Dominika Daniszewska, co-organiser of the collection at WPiA - 'We receive donations from kindergartens, secondary schools and private companies. Groups of friends often come to us. They say that they have chipped in together for bigger purchases.'

'In my opinion, this is not only humanitarian aid, but also moral. A lot of people come here and see that we are doing something. This encourages them to act. We currently have over a hundred volunteers,' - adds Anastasia Hromiak, who also co-organizes the collection.

Dozens of deliveries arrive at the UG every day. People donate everyday items, food, clothes, but also specialist items such as medicines or military goods. On the third of March, a transport with essential medical supplies left for Lviv. The director of the Lviv Regional Centre for Clinical Diagnostics sent his thanks to the students.
