A book by prof. UG distinguished with the Eastern Review Award

A book by prof. dr hab. Zbigniew Opacki from the Historical Faculty of the University of Gdańsk, entitled The Faculty of Humanities of the Stefan Batory University in Vilnius 1919-1939, was awarded the Aleksander Gieysztor Eastern Review Prize in the National Prize category.

This is the 29th edition of the prize awarded by the 'Przegląd Wschodni' quarterly to the best academic book on Eastern European subjects published in Poland or abroad.

The Special Prize of the Eastern Review is also awarded to authors for their lifetime achievements in science. The Programme Council of the Review consists of several dozen persons of the highest academic authority from Poland, Eastern Europe, Western Europe and the USA, who have made great contributions to the development of research into the history of our region.

The award ceremony will take place on March 26 at the University of Warsaw.

'Przegląd Wschodni' is a quarterly academic journal published since 1991. It is devoted to the history of Eastern Europe, the history and contemporary life of Poles in the East, and the relationship of Poland and Poles with Eastern Europe and the nations of the region.
