On June 1, the Internet Recruitment of Candidates will be launched. So there is not much time left to make a final choice of your major. In the offer of the University of Gdańsk, as every year, there are a few novelties - especially in fields of study taught in English.

The offer of the University of Gdańsk for the 2022/2023 academic year includes 89 majors at full-time and part-time studies of the first and second degree, as well as uniform master's studies. The University also offers doctoral education and the opportunity to improve professional qualifications in postgraduate studies.

From the new academic year, there will be a few novelties.

- 'We have planned to extend our offer with new studies in English. These will be two new specialisations on full-time, second-cycle studies: Digital Chemistry at the Faculty of Chemistry and Logistics and Mobility at the Faculty of Economics,' - says Beata Królczyk, head of the UG Recruitment Office. - 'Additionally, this year those interested in the spatial management faculty will be able to choose whether they would prefer to take up studies at Bachelor's or Engineer's level. So far, the University of Gdańsk has offered two majors where you can get an engineering degree: Chemical Business and Marine Hydrography. Starting this year, engineering studies will also be available in the spatial management faculty.'

At present in the offer of UG there are 11 courses available in English: at the Faculty of Chemistry - Chemistry, specialisation Digital Chemistry - stationary studies of II degree, at the Faculty of Economics - Economics, specialisation Logistics and Mobility - stationary studies of II degree. In addition, the Faculty of Economics offers those who want to study in English: International Economic Relations, specialisation International Business. For fans of criminal puzzles, the Faculty of Law and Administration offers Criminology and Criminal Justice as a full-time Bachelor's degree, while those interested in broadly understood cultural communication can choose the Faculty of Philology's Cultural Communication as a full-time Bachelor's degree. For 'scientific minds' the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science offers the course Quantum Information Technology - full-time studies of the second degree. Candidates wishing to gain an education in the field of management and finance can choose from several courses available at the Faculty of Management: Finance and Accounting, specialisation Financial Analyst - full-time I degree studies; Finance and Accounting, specialisation Finance and Accounting - full-time II degree studies, Management; specialisation Management - full-time II degree studies, Management specialisation Business Informatics - full-time II degree studies.

Let us remind you that last year a new form of studies was introduced to the offer of the University of Gdańsk, the Interdisciplinary Individual Studies in the Humanities and Social Sciences, which allows the candidate to choose their own educational path and makes it easier to obtain a diploma from two fields of study.

This year's recruitment at the University of Gdańsk starts on June 1st.

'Recruitment will be conducted online in the IRK system (Internet Recruitment of Candidates), which will be launched on June 1st. From that day everyone will be able to register,' - says Beata Królczyk. - 'The enrolment is connected with the necessity to enter the results, which are the qualification criterion for a given faculty. This means that this year's secondary school graduates will be able to enrol only after receiving their final secondary school certificates,' - she adds.

As in previous years, the university prepared nearly 9 thousand places for full-time studies and 2.5 thousand places for part-time studies.
