The University of Gdańsk Library joined in the celebration of the 19th National Library Week. Several interesting events were prepared:

• Hare and hounds at the Library *.

The game aims to get to know the Main Library, its interior, book collection and the work of some of its branches.

• Scanning without secrets*. 

Classes held in the digitisation workshop aim to familiarise children with the process of digitising collections. After a short introduction, children can scan their own material on an A1 format scanner, process it and send the file to their email address.

• Workshops in the bookbindery *.

This workshop aims to learn about the work of the bookbindery, the process of making book covers, and to make your own notebook. 

• The exhibition 'How it all began, the beginnings of the electronic library catalogue in the University of Gdańsk Library'.

The exhibition presents old computers, servers and documents related to the process of computerisation of the University of Gdańsk Library.

The exhibition can be viewed in the exhibition room on the first floor during Library opening hours.   

• Classics in emojis - guess the book titles' competition 

The competition takes place in the Neophilology Library and the Economics Library.

Visiting the UG Main Library from 9.00 to 15.00

*For the first 3 events, an earlier reservation was necessary.
