We invite you to read the latest issue of the University Gazette. It contains a lot of information about the life of the university and the people who make up our community - staff, students and PhD students.
The main article in the issue is devoted to the latest edition of the Impact ranking evaluating the university's commitment to the goals of sustainable development. In this ranking, the University of Gdańsk took the highest position among 15 classified Polish universities. The article is accompanied by a table illustrating the results in the general classification and individual categories, corresponding to the 17 objectives of sustainable development.
Much emphasis was placed on the conference 'Solidarity with Ukraine', which took place on May 12-13 at the Faculty of Philology and concerned the involvement of the scientific and academic community in helping our eastern neighbours. The account of this event was enriched with numerous photographs.
Another article is about the activities of the Centre for Procurement Policy - a recently established, yet extremely important unit for the functioning of the university. Its management talks about the importance of organising and maintaining an efficient purchasing process, closely linked to public procurement.
In this issue, you will also find interesting interviews with dr Maciej Dębski - head of the project 'Quality assessment of school relations', dr hab. Hanna Margońska - researcher and scientific iconographer of orchids, Agnieszka Rolirad - author of a speech therapy fairy tale, dr Magdalena Łągiewska - director of the Confucius Institute at the University of Gdańsk, as well as Aleksandra Górska-Jankowska and Wojciech Jankowski, who made an almost year-long journey through Asia. The last interview is supplemented with an account of a meeting with the traveller couple, which took place on April 7 in the UG Main Library.
The May issue of 'University Gazette' also contains articles on the history of the University, culture, a review of current events, information on the successes of our athletes, as well as an already traditional crossword puzzle.
