Workshops, meetings and walks. Come along to the Garncarska Festival!

We would like to invite you to the Garncarska Festival! On September 4, we will explore the nooks and crannies of one of the oldest streets in Gdańsk and talk about the future of urban space. The event programme includes workshops, refreshments from Garncarska restaurateurs, meetings and walks. Participants will spend time together in this characteristic part of the city to take a fresh look at Gdańsk's public space.

Among the rich programme, it is worth noting the representation of the units of the University of Gdańsk based in the building of the Faculty of History on ul. Bielańska, which have also prepared attractions for the guests. In the building's lobby, it will be possible to see an exhibition of archaeological excavations from the site at ul. Świętojańska, 'Cellars and latrines. A Tale of Old Gdańsk Houses in the Eyes of an Archaeologist" prepared by dr Joanna Dąbal from the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology, UG.

The Institute will also be represented by dr Monika Milewska, who will give a lecture on the cultural history of the street. It will also be possible to see two exhibitions prepared by the University of Gdańsk Museum, one devoted to the history of student culture at our university and the other currently on display at St Catherine's Church: 'Pioneers, researchers, leaders. Women of Gdańsk science". Visitors will also be able to take a walk along the trail of partner institutions from the Old Town of RadUNIA Kultury, of which the University of Gdańsk Museum is a member.

The event is organised by the City of Gdańsk.
