In the overall ranking of Polish universities, UG achieved a high tenth position among all 32 ranked institutions.

THE WUR ranking is a global compilation covering, in its latest edition, more than 1,799 higher education entities of various profiles from 104 countries, making it the largest and most diverse university ranking to date.

The compilation is based on 13 carefully calibrated indicators that measure an institution's performance in the areas of teaching, research, knowledge transfer to the economy and international prestige. It is in these last two parameters that our university recorded the highest marks.

In the face of such a multi-faceted assessment, it is not easy to compete with the world's best universities, although five domestic universities have managed to enter the top 1,000 of the list (last year it was only the two best Polish universities - the UJ and the UW; this year's edition includes three more medical universities from Wrocław, Łódź and Gdańsk).

A comparison of this year's and last year's positions of Polish universities in THE WUR is presented in the attached table. It is worth noting that, compared to last year, the classification of universities in the 1201+ range has been made more detailed (in this year's edition, the 1201-1500 and 1501+ ranges were separated from the 1201+ group).
