- 'As part of the film club, students can try their hand at three sections - programme, organisational and workshop,' - says Tomasz Pupacz, deputy head of ACK UG Alternator. - 'In addition, art students have the opportunity to complete work placements as part of cultural projects. In this way, they gain practical experience in the production of cultural events and film material.'
The Film Discussion Club Miłość Blondynki, operating under the auspices of the University of Gdańsk since 1994, prepares several attractive cultural events in the Tricity as part of the Academic Cultural Centre of the University of Gdańsk.
In 2009, it was nominated for the National Film Institute Award in the Film Discussion Club category. DKF is a winner of the prof. Antoni Bohdziewicz Award, granted by the Polish Federation of DKFs, in 2006.
The essence of the Film Discussion Club is education and promotion of film culture in its broadest sense, presenting ambitious and interesting achievements of the world and domestic cinema. Based on original projects, we present original and unusual cycles, winning the favour of the audience. Our film offer is aimed at all lovers of good cinema!
However, in addition to our educational and purely entertainment role, we try to open people's eyes to the problems of the modern world. We want cinema to be a kind of lens describing today's reality, following in the footsteps of contemporary humanism. We want viewers who come to our screenings to learn how to ask questions, often uncomfortable ones, and to position themselves critically in relation to the topics and issues on offer. Through cinema, we want to discuss the phenomena of the contemporary world. Going beyond the academic framework, we open up to all topics and forms of interaction between the viewer, film art and reality.
So if you love cinema or just want to fall in love with it, if you want to discuss it, if you want to meet interesting and passionate people, we invite you to our film screenings!!!
