Ambassador Sultana Laila Hossain of Bangladesh met with the Rector of the University of Gdańsk, prof. Piotr Stepnowski, and the Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, dr hab. Anna Maria Jurkowska-Zeidler, prof. UG. The topic of discussion was international academic cooperation in its broadest sense.

The main point of Tuesday's meeting was to discuss the prospects for student education and scientific cooperation between universities in Bangladesh and UG. Common goals include continuing the good relations between academic institutions through cooperation, support in the recruitment process, mobility and foreign exchange of students.

- 'The University of Gdańsk is meeting the growing needs related to the internationalisation of the university. Academic mobility is growing dynamically at our university, which makes us very happy,' - says dr hab. Anna Maria Jurkowska-Zeidler, prof. UG, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation. - 'We are open to cooperation with new countries, the number of foreign students enrolling at the UG is growing every year, and the budgets of the Erasmus programme for EU and non-EU countries are increasing. Above all, however, there are increasing opportunities for further cooperation with foreign centres, including joint publications, research and academic exchange.'

In enriching its didactic offer, the University of Gdańsk is expanding the number of studies conducted in English, which enables students from different regions of the world to take up education in Poland, obtain an education and, in the long term, develop their careers.  

The University of Gdańsk also continues to develop its cooperation with foreign research centres. A significant success is an increase in the number of foreign students taking up studies. A significant increase in the number of classes offered in English has contributed to this. In the recently concluded recruitment, the Management and International Business specialisations were the most successful among them.
