The Gdańsk Scientific Society and the Gdańsk Society of Friends of Art invite the academic community of the University of Gdańsk to a meeting which will conclude the celebrations of the 100th anniversary of GTN, this Friday 18.11.2022 at 15.00 in the Library of the University of Gdańsk. The event will be accompanied by the promotion of two jubilee publications. 

November 18, 2022, was not chosen at random, as exactly one hundred years earlier the registration of the Society of Friends of Science and Art in the Second Free City of Gdańsk took place. That day is also the 280th anniversary of the foundation of the Societas Physicae Experimentalis in Gdańsk.

The anniversary celebrations will take place at the University of Gdańsk Library at 3 pm. The event will be opened by the Rector of the University of Gdańsk prof. dr hab. Piotr Stepnowski, the President of the Gdańsk Scientific Society (GTN) prof. dr hab. inż. Jerzy Błażejowski, the President of the Gdańsk Society of Friends of Art (GTPS) Beniamin Koralewski, the Editor-in-Chief of the UG Publishing House Joanna Kamień and the Director of the UG Library Roman Tabisz. 

Two new anniversary publications will then be presented: One Hundred Years of the Gdańsk Scientific Society continuing the tradition of the Society of Friends of Science and Art by prof. Jerzy Błażejowski and the 81st volume of the Gdańsk Yearbook edited by prof. dr hab. Beata Możejko. 

The Centenary Medals of GTN, TPNIS and GTPS will be presented during the event.
