From November 9th until November 11th, 2022, the representatives of the University of Gdańsk visited the coordinator of the SEA-EU alliance – the University of Cadiz. The delegation attended the "Polish Days" staff week, being a part of the internationalization initiative set within the consortium.
The Chancellor for Infrastructure and Administration, Leszek Fiertek, MSc, along with delegates of the Faculty of Law & Administration, the Human Resources Department, the Career Office, the Scientific Project Office, the SEA-EU Office and the Erasmus+ Exchange Office, spent three days getting to know their counterparts at the University of Cadiz.
The first day was focused on popularization of the University of Gdańsk as a destination for student and administrative staff exchange. The matter of increasing mobility, the most commonly-encountered difficulties, and the implementation of effective solutions were discussed. The guest delegates encouraged the hosts to visit UG for a traineeship within the framework of the ERASMUS+ programme or job shadowing within the SEA-EU project.
By presenting our vast resources and open internationalization strategy, the University of Gdańsk emphasized the need for improving mobility rates among all partner institutions.
The second day was dedicated to workshops on exchanging good practices and analyzing recruitment procedures.
On the last day, which was National Independence Day in Poland, the group was invited to a themed picnic on the UCA campus grounds in Puerto Real. The programme involved traditional polish cuisine tasting accompanied by all-time Polish music classics.
The trip contributed to strengthening the relationship with our Spanish partners, but also resulted in the UG employees bonding on a personal level, which will undoubtedly translate to even higher quality of cooperation.
