Data analysis courses for Ukrainian citizens at UG

The University of Gdańsk invites you to two free data analysis courses for Ukrainian citizens currently residing in the Tri-City area. The courses will be held in English at the University of Gdańsk.

Citizens of Ukraine who entered Poland after February 23, 2022, are eligible to participate in the courses. A Ukrainian passport with an entry stamp after February 23, 2022, will be required to start the course. It will be verified on the first day of classes.

Fluency in English is a requirement as the courses will be conducted entirely in English.

Course program

Each program consists of 10 hours of lectures, with the remaining time devoted to practical exercises and skill development in the computer laboratory.

  • Criminological Research Methods (40 hours, including 30 hours of supervised work) will introduce you to Bayesian statistical programming and causal inference in R for criminological applications. You will join our group of criminology students at the University of Gdańsk.
  • Data Analysis and Visualization for Journalism Studies (30 hours, including 20 hours of supervised work) will teach you the basics of data visualization and introduce you to Bayesian analysis using R and ggplot2. You will join our journalism students at the University of Gdańsk.

If you want to participate in the program, please register using the form below by the end of 2022 - acceptance to the program is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Registration deadline: December 31, 2022

Notification of acceptance/rejection: January 16, 2022

The classes will take place from February 20 to May 15, 2023.
