The University of Gdańsk is continuing its fruitful cooperation with Santander Bank Polska S.A.. In the soon-to-begin 2023/2024 academic year, the financial institution will again donate PLN 50,000 for prizes for students and doctoral students. The call for applications has just started!
Thanks to the donation received, 32 students and doctoral students at our university will receive prizes for their achievements by the end of the year: 28 will receive PLN 1,500 each, and four students and doctoral students will receive PLN 2,000 each. A total of PLN 50,000 will be allocated for prizes.
'The signed agreement gives us another opportunity to reward students and doctoral students who are particularly active in, for example, scientific or social activities. Thanks to this cooperation, the financial possibilities of supporting the youngest members of our academic community are expanding. This is excellent news at the start of the new academic year. Both parties will endeavour to ensure that there are even more areas of cooperation,' said the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Education Quality, dr hab. Arnold Kłonczyński, prof. UG, last year. These words are still valid today.
In specifying this year's regulations, the Competition Jury decided to award four prizes of PLN 2000 gross, including at least one for a first-year student of first-cycle studies or uniform master's studies and at least one for a doctoral student. Out of the 28 prizes of PLN 1,500 gross, at least three will go to first-year students of first-cycle or long-cycle studies and at least four to doctoral students.
The criteria for awarding the prizes are academic performance, academic achievements, social activity (pro bono activity), sporting achievements, cultural activity, and self-development activity.
Applications for the award can be submitted from today via the Santander Scholarships platform. The first stage of the recruitment process will last until October 25. In the second stage, which will run from October 27 to November 3, invited students and doctoral students will have to supplement their application with scanned certificates documenting the achievements presented.
Students and doctoral students will be informed of the results of their application by November 17. From then on, awardees will have one week to complete the formalities and accept the award. The benefits are scheduled to be paid out in the second half of December.
