Exercises with a physiotherapist, consultations with a podiatrist, rapid diagnostic tests, first aid workshops, and a health run - these are just some of the attractions prepared on the occasion of the 4th Occupational Safety and Health Day at the University of Gdańsk.

The event, which is aimed at employees, doctoral students and UG students, will take place on May 9 at 11.00 a.m. at the UG Faculty of Social Sciences. During the 4th Occupational Health and Safety Day, participants will have the opportunity to benefit from practical exercises under the guidance of an experienced physiotherapist. For those struggling with foot problems, consultations with a podiatrist have been prepared. A moment of relaxation will be provided by enjoying an office massage, combining elements of classical massage, relaxation, acupressure, mobilisation or trigger therapies. Taking part in a massage will also help to normalise muscle tone and increase blood circulation. The massage lasts up to 20 minutes and takes place in a seated position on a special chair, without the need to undress.

You are also welcome to take advantage of rapid diagnostic tests - there will be cassette tests to choose from: HIV, hepatitis A, hepatitis B, hepatitis C, syphilis, tuberculosis, STREP test A, STREP test B, CRP, beta HCG, PSA.

How to help an infant, child, or adult during choking? You will be able to find out about this and other basic first-aid issues in a specially prepared workshop. You will also be able to attend a workshop on how to help in the event of a haemorrhage, as well as a fire safety workshop to discuss the new rules for evacuation in UG facilities and issues such as the practical use of the evacuation chair, the internal hydrant, and putting out the fire using fire extinguishers.

The organisers have also prepared many other attractions, such as a presentation of personal protective equipment, VR goggles, ALKOgoggles, NARKOgoggles, a health and safety wheel of fortune, a photo booth, an ENERGObike, and a stand of the DKMS Foundation.

UG's 4th Occupational Safety and Health Day will feature a Run for Health. The 1.5 km run will start with a warm-up in the car park at the Faculty of Social Sciences. All ages and fitness levels are welcome to run, march, or walk. Szymon Gumkowski - winner of the Westerplatte run in Gdańsk and the Independence run in Warsaw - will also participate. The first 100 people will receive a medal and a gift!

The Occupational Safety and Health Office also encourages you to take part in the 'OSH Crossword Puzzle' competition. All you have to do is fill in the competition entry form and send it to bhp@ug.edu.pl or drop it in the OSH box located on the ground floor in the New Rectorate or in the box at the entrance to WNS during the 4th Occupational Safety and Health Day on May 9. There are 16 in-kind prizes to be won.
