Mayor Aleksandra Dulkiewicz
New headquarters for the Paweł Adamowicz University's Secondary School and joint activities to attract talented scientists from abroad were two of many topics discussed during a meeting between Mayor Aleksandra Dulkiewicz and Rector Prof. Piotr Stepnowski at the University of Gdansk.
- The University of Gdańsk is linked to the city of Gdańsk not only by its address but also by many people - our alumni who, like the late Mayor Paweł Adamowicz, have created the history of self-governance. The University has always co-operated with the city in many areas, from science and culture to various projects. We have many ideas for the future together with the Mayor and I am glad that we managed to meet and talk about them - said Prof. Piotr Stepnowski, UG Rector.
Mayor Aleksandra Dulkiewicz and the Rector discussed, among other things, the issue of a building for the Secondary School of Paweł Adamowicz, which is currently located within the walls of the university, still, the number of students will grow each year and the school needs a separate building.
Discussions were also held on the joint promotion of the city and the university, as well as a related programme of social responsibility of science, which is already being implemented at the university, a support and co-operation project on the employment of post-docs from abroad by the university.
