Between science and business. Experts wanted

Scientists willing to cooperate in the role of substantive experts are sought by the executors of the project µGrants R&D for enterprises, strengthening the cooperation between the world of science and the world of business in Pomerania.

Thanks to the µGrants R&D for enterprises project Pomeranian entrepreneurs may apply for non-refundable support for research and development services worth up to PLN 200 000. This is a first such project carried out by the Pomerania Development Agency, directed at scientific employees of the University of Gdańsk, Gdańsk University of Technology, Gdańsk Medical University and Maritime University.

- 'This is a great opportunity for the employees of our university to function as partners for Pomeranian entrepreneurs,' - claims dr Andrzej Poszewiecki, the vice-president of UG Techtransbalt. He hopes that the initiated cooperation will be continued and UG will build a stronger brand as an entity open to cooperation with the economic environment.

The project operator is Excento Sp. z o.o. - The special purpose vehicle of the Gdańsk University of Technology implementing the project in partnership with Centrum Innowacji Medycznych Sp. z o.o. - Special Purpose Vehicle of the Gdańsk Medical University, Techtransbalt Sp. z o.o. - Special Purpose Vehicle of the University of Gdansk and the Pomeranian Regional Chamber of Commerce.

The project's kick-off event is the recruitment of substantive experts.

For this purpose, on February 9, at 12, an information meeting for eager scientists, potential candidates for experts will be held in the form of a webinar entitled 'Become a substantive expert in the project μGrants R&D for enterprises'.

- 'The experts' task will be to help the entrepreneurs to transform the initial idea for R&D into a research agenda, showing step by step how to achieve the intended goal, i.e. creating a new or significantly improved product or service,' - explains Kamila Szczerbowska.

The meeting will be hosted by Krzysztof Malicki, an expert with experience in the commercialisation of research results and Piotr Markowski, the manager of μGrants R&D for enterprises project. They will present the possibility of scientists' participation in the project and the scope of tasks foreseen for employees and scientific teams.
