Quo vadis FarU? Workshop meeting of Fahrenheit Universities authorities

1

At the end of November, a workshop meeting was held with the rector and chancellor authorities of the Medical University of Gdańsk, the Technical University of Gdańsk and the University of Gdańsk, as well as the management of The Fahrenheit Union of Universities in Gdańsk. Key areas for further development of the FarU were discussed.

The starting point for the discussion was a summary of the past four years of activities by the Director of The Fahrenheit Union of Universities in Gdańsk, prof. dr hab. inż. Adriana Zaleska-Medynska, followed by a presentation of the current situation and challenges in terms of legislation on the road to federalization, discussed by the President of the Union of Universities, prof. dr hab. Piotr Stepnowski, Rector of UG .

In the past term, the Fahrenheit Union of Universities in Gdańsk organised: 105 events (conferences, meetings, debates, seminars, training courses, framework agreements, New Year meetings, etc.), 13 competitions, 3 joint openings of the academic year, 3 Fahrenheit Science Picnics.

The remaining time was devoted to group work, followed by forum discussions, in five key areas - interuniversity student initiatives, research cooperation, activities for the economy, the University of Many Generations as a proposal for a new venture, and quo vadis, i.e. questions about further directions and development.

The meeting was intended to evaluate completed activities, take the most important current decisions and develop a list of tasks for the coming months. Discussions revolved not only around initiating cooperation or new projects but also systemic solutions aimed at optimising processes or streamlining cooperation paths.
