Until mid-September, the Pedagogical Provincial Library in Gdańsk will present an exhibition entitled 'The Way to the University. The University of Gdańsk and its predecessors 1945-1970'.

The exhibition presents selected fragments of the history of the Higher School of Pedagogy in Gdańsk, the Higher School of Maritime Trade, the Higher School of Economics in Sopot and the first year of activity of the University of Gdańsk.

It is a synthetic description of the history of the University based on documents, memories and photographs held in the collections of the University of Gdańsk Museum and the Alumni Association of the WSHM, WSE and Economic Faculties of the University of Gdańsk.

Previously, the materials could be viewed in the Manhattan Library - a branch of the Provincial and Municipal Public Library in Gdańsk.

Visitors to the exhibition and Library readers will also receive bookmarks prepared using archival photographs of the University of Gdańsk.
