On December 6-10, at all faculties of the University of Gdańsk, there will be an act of registration of potential bone marrow donors. Get involved and help - in this way you can also save someone's life.
Registration of potential bone marrow and stem cell donors, which will take place at the University of Gdańsk, is conducted by DKMS Foundation as part of the student project 'HELPERS' GENERATION'. It aims to engage the academic community in the fight against blood cancers through education and initiating registration actions.
One of the leaders of the programme is Magdalena Król, a student of the Intercollegiate Faculty of Biotechnology UG and GUMed.
- 'I encourage you to volunteer to help organise the registration campaign at the University of Gdańsk. We need help at the stands set up in each department of the University,' - says Magdalena Król, a student of the Intercollegiate Faculty of Biotechnology UG and GUMed. - 'There are two requirements: willingness to get involved in the charity action and participation in an organised online training on how to register donors.'.
The training is scheduled for December 4, 2021, and will last approximately 1 hour. During this time, volunteers will watch a tutorial video and familiarise themselves with the donor registration form.

- 'After the recruitment is completed, I will contact the selected candidates by e-mail and we will prepare for everything together,' - adds Magdalena Król, a UG student.
Get involved and help improve the situation of people in need of bone marrow transplants from unrelated donors around the world.
Due to the epidemic situation, the organiser of the event will ensure that the registration desks meet all required sanitary standards. Students will be informed about the need to keep their distance, use masks and disinfect the stands.
