The bake fair is another initiative of the students of the University of Gdańsk who want to help Ukraine. On March 12 between 12:00 and 18:00 at the Faculty of Social Sciences, you can buy cakes and cookies. The income from their sale will be entirely devoted to helping Ukraine.
On the second day since the Russian army attacked Ukraine, students of WNS UG have organised a collection of donations for those affected by the conflict. The young people accept and send necessary items that will help refugees as well as those left behind in Ukraine. They usually get a few parcels from donors, but sometimes huge shipments arrive from Norway or the Netherlands.
Soon, WNS will be able to support those in need in another way. Students are preparing a baking fair, from which all the money raised will be donated to help those in need. - 'I love to bake and decorate cakes, so I decided to help Ukraine in this way,' says Marta Karcz, the organiser of the fair and a UG student. - 'Funds collected during the event will be distributed according to current needs. We will check whether our help will be more needed in the form of specifically purchased items and products or as financial support for foundations bringing aid to Ukraine.'
The fair will take place on March 12, between 12:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. Volunteers can submit their baked goods until Friday, March 11, 3:00 p.m. by emailing studencidlaukrainy@gmail.com or through the "Students for Ukraine - We Help" Facebook page. Their cakes and cookies will be prepared for sale and displayed by volunteers. - 'The plates, the stand, the service and the sale, everything is organized and planned by us. A dozen people have already signed up, including my grandmother, and more are declaring their willingness to help. So we expect a variety of baked goods,' - said Marta Karcz.
