DKF UG Miłość Blondynki and the "ŻUBROFFKA" Festival invite you to the screening of Ukrainian short films, which will take place on March 15 at 18:00 at the Faculty of Philology. The ticket for the screening is a document confirming support for the scholarship fundraising and financial support for people from Ukraine at the University of Gdańsk.

More than two weeks have passed since the outbreak of war in Ukraine. During these days, millions of people have united to offer emergency aid to all those who have been forced to leave their homes. However, it is worth slowly preparing for longer-term support. The University of Gdańsk has set up a fundraising campaign to provide scholarships for Ukrainian students and researchers. In the first two weeks, we collected more than PLN 50 000!

To promote our action DKF UG Miłość Blondynki in cooperation with the International Short Film Festival "ŻUBROFFKA" prepared the screening of four films by Ukrainian filmmakers. Your ticket to the screening is proof of any payment made to the University of Gdańsk fundraiser. So if you want to get to know the culture of our neighbours better and at the same time help the victims of the ongoing war, then the event 'We help Ukraine!' is just for you.

During the screening the audience will see four films - 'Deep Love /Kohannia' (2019), which got the Ukrainian equivalent of the Oscar for a best animated short film; 'The Stiff' (2018) dir. Dmytro Sukholytkyy-Sobchuk, winner of two awards at the Gdańsk DocFilm Festival; 'Snails' (2014), dir. Maryna Vroda, a story about two childhood friends who meet years later; 'Me and my fat ass' (2020) dir. by Yelyzaveta Pysmak, a short animation about anorexia. The films will be screened in their original version, with Polish and English subtitles.

'We currently have over a hundred Ukrainian students and staff in our community. They are our friends, neighbours, colleagues from work and university. DKF UG Miłość Blondynki in cooperation with the International Short Film Festival 'ŻUBROFFKA' wants to actively participate in activities supporting Ukraine, therefore we invite you to the screening of Ukrainian short films presented during the past editions of ŻUBROFFKA,' - encourage the organisers of the screening.

The screening will take place on March 15 (Tuesday) 2022 at 6:00 p.m. in the lecture hall 1.43 of the Faculty of Philology of the University of Gdańsk.

The event is partnered with the International Short Film Festival 'ŻUBROFFKA', the University of Gdańsk Development Foundation, the Centre for Student and Doctoral Activities of the University of Gdańsk, Radio Mors and CDN online magazine.
