It is time for news from sunny Split, where the "SEA-EU Service Learning Conference - Community-engaged University" took place. The event was attended by researchers and students from SEA-EU partner universities, who exchanged their experiences on the method of teaching through community engagement.
The University of Gdansk was represented by experts from the Faculty of Social Sciences: dr Adam Jagiełło-Rusiłowski and dr Jarosław Jendza. There were also students of our university: Kalina Kunicka also from Faculty of Social Sciences, Pola Chwiłka, Alicja Śmiech and Milena Wroniewicz from the Faculty of Philology.
The main topic of the conference was the use of service-learning in university work, thanks to which students gain knowledge and experience related to the study programme, while at the same time taking part in projects that have a real impact on the world outside the university. The exchange of experiences in an international group was an excellent initiative and resulted in new ideas for cooperation.
The participants also had the opportunity to visit the University of Split campus and the stadium of the sports club Hajduk. We must admit that the weather and the mood were great for our delegation!
