A Student Services Employee Association and Deans' Offices delegation from the University of Gdańsk participated in the Forum for University Administration Employees deliberations held on June 15-16 this year at the Leon Kozminski Academy in Warsaw. The main topic of the meeting was the challenges of digitisation of universities.
The University of Gdańsk was represented at the event by members of the Student Services Employee Association and Dean's Offices: mgr Katarzyna Rynkowska, (SSEA chairperson and Head of the Dean's Office of the Faculty of Law and Administration), mgr Joanna Pernaczyńska, (Head of the Dean's Office of the Faculty of Biology), mgr Aneta Plaskiewicz (Head of the Dean's Office of the Faculty of History) and mgr Klaudia Skup (Head of the Office of the Centre for Foreign Languages).
On the first day, MEiN representatives: Prime Minister's Plenipotentiary for GovTech and MEiN Plenipotentiary for Digital Transformation Justyna Orłowska, MEiN Digital Transformation Centre Department Director Mateusz Rafał and IBE Deputy Director for Digitisation of Science and Education Michał Przymusiński, presented MEiN's plans for the digital challenges of today's schools and universities, and the initiative of classes conducted by the Mobile Laboratories of the Future. They also presented new IT projects in the field of education and science.
In addition, representatives of leading companies such as Microsoft Poland and Samsung also spoke about their IT and technological solutions for universities.
The second day discussed practical IT solutions for higher education administrative services, including the use of artificial intelligence (ChatGPT) to automate the work of the dean's office and the university, as well as practical workshop sessions on e-file, class scheduling and hiring for financial projects from various sources.
This year's event brought together more than 350 people from over 80 universities and institutions from all over Poland. It was an excellent opportunity for networking and sharing insights into the contemporary challenges of university administration, which, according to the Rector of ALK prof. Grzegorz Mazurek: 'By creating shared value, increases the competitiveness of universities and creates the academic culture.'
'We are happy to be part of such a dynamic and inspiring community and hope this FORUM will start many positive changes. The most important thing is to work together and strive to achieve our common goals,' mgr Katarzyna Rynkowska summarised the event.
