A+ mark for Computer Science and Econometrics field of study –decision by the PKA Executive Council

Polish Accreditation Committee (PKA) gave an A+ mark to the Computer Science and Econometrics field of study (first cycle and second cycle, general academic profile) provided by the Faculty of Management of the University of Gdańsk. It is the highest possible mark and a form of recognition for the quality of education this field of study offers.

The PKA Certificate was presented at the University of Gdańsk Senate meeting held on 26 November 2020.

As stated in the resolution of the Polish Accreditation Committee Executive Council: ‘the highest quality of education at the Computer Science and Econometrics, field of study provided by the Faculty of Management of the University of Gdańsk, and the extent to which the quality criteria have been met validate giving the A+ mark’.

- This certificate confirms that education development at the Faculty of Management has been proper and as expected by employers. Market in Poland and abroad needs graduates who are able to think analytically, analyze facts, statistical data and use up-to-date IT tools. Our curriculum, including more and more AI elements and Big Data techniques guarantees acquiring those competencies at the high academic leve, which is also confirmed by the PKA Certificate– assesses Professor Mirosław Szreder, Dean of the Faculty of Management of the University of Gdańsk.

Computer Science and Econometrics fields of study enables students to a acquire knowledge and skills, the market importance of which has grown significantly recently. Those are digital skills (Economic Computer Science specialization), data analysis competences (Big Data specialization) and analytical thinking and economic modelling (Economic Analysis specialization).

Classes are also conducted by foreign lecturers and IT specialist from business and administrative practices.
