Dr Katarzyna Świerk Ambassador for the RM ROADMAP project

1

Director of the Office of Science Dr Katarzyna Świerk has been appointed Ambassador of the Research Evaluation and Assessment Expert thematic group in the international RM project ROADMAP - Creating Framework Conditions for Research Management to Strengthen the European Research Area.

The project brings together a pan-European community involved in research management, with the main aim of defining the role and place of science managers in the pursuit of research excellence.

‘Science management is a new profession with no uniform definition or stable scope of tasks. It does not fit into the categories and criteria to which we are accustomed. It is a constant challenge to search for new goals and solutions and then implement them in the home units. On top of this, there are also the cultural, social, and legislative contexts and financial possibilities in the country. This makes me all the more excited to contribute to such a roadmap for research development,' says dr Katarzyna Świerk.

The RM ROADMAP Ambassadors will be responsible for gathering information and data from national institutions and the academic community to gain perspective on the development of the role of science managers. In doing so, they will become facilitators in co-creating the future of research management in Europe.

Our sincere congratulations.
