Dr Anna Wolska-Bagińska appointed Deputy European Prosecutor at the Regional Prosecutor's Office in Gdańsk

The European Public Prosecutor's Office (EPPO) in Luxembourg has appointed a Deputy European Prosecutor at the Regional Prosecutor's Office in Gdańsk. The appointee is dr Anna Wolska-Bagińska from the Department of Criminal Procedure and Forensic Science, who will take up her new position on 1 December 2025.

Dr Anna Wolska-Bagińska was appointed to the position of prosecutor at the District Prosecutor's Office in Gdynia in 2016, and since 2020 she has been delegated to the Regional Prosecutor's Office in Gdańsk. Since 2017, she has been associated with the Department of Criminal Procedure and Criminalistics, where she defended her doctoral thesis under the supervision of dr hab. Sławomir Steinborn, prof. UG. In 2024, she joined the task force on the computerisation of criminal proceedings of the Criminal Law Codification Commission, operating under the Minister of Justice. On 29 October this year, she was appointed Delegated European Prosecutor at the Regional Prosecutor's Office in Gdańsk by the College of European Prosecutors, a position she took up on 1 December this year.

The European Public Prosecutor's Office (EPPO) is an independent prosecutor's office of the European Union that investigates and prosecutes crimes against the EU's financial interests and combines European and national law enforcement activities. Its objectives include combating fraud, protecting the EU budget from criminals and facilitating the recovery of damages. Currently, its area of operation (the so-called ‘EPPO zone’) covers 24 of the 27 EU Member States.
