Students for seniors - helping elderly people navigate the world of new technologies

‘Students for Seniors’ is a campaign in which University of Gdańsk students will help older people use new technologies, such as phones and apps, during biweekly office hours. The initiative was prepared by the Centre for Student and Doctoral Activities (CASiD). The first consultation session will take place on 10 December!

As part of the initiative, elderly people who have problems with using applications, telephones or other digital devices will be able to take advantage of regular ‘technical support’. Volunteers will patiently and cheerfully answer questions and help with any difficulties.

The sessions will take place every other Wednesday. The first one will be held on 10 December from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Institute of Logopaedics, University of Gdańsk, room 132.

‘We believe that digital reality should be accessible to everyone, regardless of age,’ write the organisers. ‘We encourage you to spread the word about this initiative to seniors in your families, neighbourhoods and local communities. Every share increases the chance that help will reach those who need it most!’
