A cooperation agreement between the shipyard and the University of Gdańsk was signed at the headquarters of PGZ Stocznia Wojenna (PGZ Naval Shipyard). The document sets out the framework for partnership in key areas such as process optimisation and administration digitisation, information security using quantum technologies, environmental research, stakeholder management and adapting the organisation to ESG reporting requirements.
The agreement with the University of Gdańsk is part of the Shipyard's broader strategy, based on building a partnership network of academic institutions supporting its development not only in terms of human resources, but above all in terms of intellectual and research capacity.
‘For us, cooperation with academic centres is much more than just recruiting future employees. We need partners who will help us face the challenges that a modern industrial enterprise must face - digital transformation, information security and growing ESG requirements. Universities have the knowledge and research facilities that can really support this process. That is why we take such agreements very seriously,’ emphasises Beata Koniarska, Member of the Management Board of PGZ Naval Shipyard.
The initiated cooperation strengthens the role of the University of Gdańsk as a leading centre for innovative quantum technologies in cryptography and cyber security in Pomerania. Under the agreement, we contribute advanced research facilities and interdisciplinary expertise: from technological solutions, through digitisation and process optimisation, to environmental research and ESG standards.
‘This is further proof that our university is truly co-creating innovations, developing technologies of the future and actively supporting the economic transformation of Pomerania,’ says the Rector of the University of Gdańsk, prof. dr hab. Piotr Stepnowski.
