On 10 October, once again, we, the higher education institutions, authorities and residents, will come together to start the academic year. A colourful parade will make its way along the Royal Route, featuring academic traditions, unique costumes, music and artistic groups.
The parade, under the slogan “Long live science!”, is a special celebration for the entire region, bringing together the academic community, local government representatives and residents every year. Undergraduate, graduate and Ph.D. students, academic teachers, university staff and representatives of the authorities will come together for a festive and colourful procession along the Royal Route. The parade will once again feature a special artistic programme - university choirs and the Gdańsk Academic Orchestra will perform, while artists and groups will add colour and energy to the procession along the route.
This year’s parade is also an opportunity to celebrate the expansion of the Fahrenheit Universities.
The Medical University of Gdańsk, Gdańsk University of Technology and the University of Gdańsk have now been joined by the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk and the Stanisław Moniuszko Academy of Music.
