Polish Society of Clinical Psychology (PTPK) has elected a new executive committee. Prof. dr hab. Małgorzata Lipowska, Director of the Institute of Psychology at the University of Gdańsk, has taken up the post of President of the Society.
The new PTPK leadership was elected on 22 September 2026 during the PTPK General Meeting of Members. In addition to prof. Małgorzata Lipowska, the new PTPK Executive Committee also comprises prof. Bernadetta Izydorczyk and mgr Izabela Zboińska, who have taken up the roles of vice-presidents, as well as mgr Katarzyna Sarnicka (secretary) and dr Barbara Leśniak (treasurer).
The Polish Society for Clinical Psychology has been active since 2008, bringing together specialists in clinical psychology and representatives of related fields. For nearly two decades, the Society has supported the development of clinical psychology in Poland, striving to raise professional and ethical standards as well as the quality of specialist training. Among other things, the PTPK carries out the certification of clinical psychology supervisors, as well as psychotherapists and psychotherapy supervisors. Another key area of the Society’s activity is supporting the scientific development of clinical psychology and fostering integration between practitioners and researchers. The PTPK co-publishes the scientific journal ‘Psychiatria i Psychologia Kliniczna’ (‘Journal of Psychiatry and Clinical Psychology’), which has an Impact Factor and is indexed in international scientific databases. The Society also organises regular scientific conferences devoted to clinical psychology and its practical applications. Furthermore, the PTPK is actively involved in activities relating to the training of specialists, the development of professional standards and the strengthening of the role of clinical psychology within the healthcare system.
Prof. Małgorzata Lipowska’s appointment as President of the PTPK is a significant honour and an expression of recognition for her research, teaching and organisational work, as well as her contribution to the development of clinical psychology.
