Following a bittersweet start to the league season, the JohnnyBros ASA UG women’s volleyball team will face SPS Hydropex Sparta Złotów on home turf this coming Saturday. For the University of Gdańsk, this will be a historic occasion: the first match to be played at the newly opened University of Gdańsk Sports Centre! Come along to the stands to cheer on #UGTeam live!

The multi-purpose sports hall at the UG Sports Centre was officially opened during the inauguration of the academic year on 1 October 2026. Since then, it has hosted training sessions and sports activities, but it is not until this Saturday, 17 October 2026, at 4.00 pm that the first match open to the public will take place. Our new stands can accommodate over 250 people - so we warmly invite everyone who would like to cheer on the JohnnyBros ASA UG women’s volleyball team from there.

The girls have had mixed fortunes so far this season: they’ve recorded two wins and two defeats. Last weekend in Poznań, they beat ZSMS Poznań 3-1, but lost 1-3 to UKS Szamotulanin the following day. We’re keeping our fingers crossed that their home court will prove to be their lucky one!
