A film by Pawel Podolski, a student of the Philology Department, awarded at the international Austin Comedy Film Festival

Paweł Podolski, a first-year student of Film and Audiovisual Culture at the Faculty of Philology of the University of Gdańsk, and director of the short film Czy potwory jedzą kiwi [Do Monsters Eat Kiwi], received the award for best international director at the Austin Comedy Film Festival.

The film was produced at the Munk Studio of the Polish Filmmakers Association under the "30 Minutes" programme. The executive producer is mgr inż. Jakub Maj - one of the lecturers of the Department of Film and Media at the Faculty of Philology of the University of Gdańsk. TVN is a co-producer of the films from the '30 Minutes' Programme.

Czy potwory jedzą kiwi [Do Monsters Eat Kiwis] tells the story of an eight-year-old Tomek, who has to face a huge problem. A monster has taken up residence in his wardrobe - and not just any monster. It is dangerous, mysterious and rather greedy. The boy has to get rid of the unwanted guest before it devours someone from his family or himself. In the main role, we will see the extremely talented Gustaw Kramin, in the role of his brother - one of the most interesting actors of the young generation - Mateusz Więcławek.

Congratulations to our student Paweł Podolski!
