Pomeranian Academic Championships are treated as general training before the Polish Academic Championships in Omega Class, which will be held from May 24-27 in Wilkasy. Crews representing all major Pomeranian universities entered the regatta.
Pomeranian Academic Championships in the Puck Class were held on May 15, 2021. The organizers of the AMP were the AZS Gdańsk Environmental Board and the Yacht Club Rewa. The individual championship of Poland was won by the crew of the Maritime University in Gdynia, ahead of the Gdańsk University of Technology and the Academy of Physical Education and Sport in Gdańsk. The UG team composed of: Mikołaj Jaworski (helmsman), Tomasz Adamek, Piotr Kiedrowski, Michalina Michalska, took fifth place - out of eleven crews participating in the AMP. Our sailors study at the Faculty of Management, Faculty of Neophilology and Faculty of Biotechnology.

The official closing ceremony of the regatta was attended by the Vice-Rector of UG, prof. Anna Jurkowska-Zeidler, who cheered on our team. As she admits, she regrets that she could not participate in this fantastic sporting competition.
The Yacht Club Rewa, run by one of Poland's leading sailors and coaches, Olympic Games participant Janusz Frąckowiak, conducts activities worthy of promotion and support for the development of sailing in Poland, with particular emphasis on education and upbringing of children and young people. The University of Gdańsk supports the activities of YCR and plans several joint sailing ventures in the future.
