Pursuant to the Order of Minster of Science and Higher Education the advisory group was appointed to prevent, counteract and combat COVID-19, of which a member is prof. dr hab. Krystyna Bieńkowska-Szewczyk, Head of Laboratory of Virus Molecular Biology at the UG Institute of Biotechnology.

The advisory group will be mainly responsible for: preparing and presenting information to the minister regarding the epidemic situation, COVID-19 epidemic related scientific research, analyzing the needs in supporting Polish scientific research on SARS-CoV-2 virus and providing the minister with recommendations in that regard.

The advisory group consist of the chairman, Macjej Żylicz and members: Aneta Afelt, Krystyna Bieńkowska-Szewczyk, Janusz Bujnicki, Jerzy Duszyński, Piotr Fiedor, Jakub Gołąb, Paweł Grieb,  Małgorzata Kęsik-Brodecka, Jacek Klawe, Radosław Owczuk, Miłosz Parczewski, Krzysztof Pyrć, Marek Sanak, Tomasz Smiatacz, Anna Szerling.

Prof. dr hab. Krystyna Bieńkowska-Szewczyk is the Head of Laboratory of Virus Molecular Biology of the Institute of Biotechnology at the Intercollegiate Faculty of Biotechnology of University of Gdańsk and Medical University of Gdańsk.
