Recruitment to doctoral schools UG

Recruitment to the doctoral schools of the University of Gdańsk starts in August. The University offers education at: Intercollegiate Doctoral School of Biotechnology of the University of Gdańsk and the Medical University of Gdańsk, Doctoral School of Humanities and Social Sciences and Doctoral School of Science and Life Sciences.

Doctoral schools, in operation since 2019, educate doctoral students preparing them to obtain the doctoral degree. Studies in doctoral schools of the University of Gdańsk last 4 years and the education is provided in a stationary form.

- Doctoral schools are still a new development and any comprehensive assessments of this form of training would be premature at present. However, it can be observed, that they have facilitated the integration of doctoral students representing various scientific disciplines. The study programme includes methodological classes, but also subjects that prepare for the publication of scientific articles in English and the submission of applications for research grants. The interest in doctoral studies is growing year by year, depending on the discipline several candidates apply for one spot - says Arnold Kłonczyński, PhD, Professor UG, Vice-Rector for Students and Quality of Education.

Applicants with a Master's degree or equivalent in the case of international students may apply for admission.
