Friendly credit - is it possible? Let's find out over coffee

Today's family model often includes one more household member, which is credit. How to prepare for a loan, how to develop creditworthiness, how to live with a loan, especially one that accompanies us for a longer period of time? On March 9th, dr Magdalena Markiewicz will give a lecture entitled 'Friendly credit - is it possible', during which she will answer all these questions.

Science Cafés at the University of Gdańsk are a joint undertaking of the Faculty of Economics and the Faculty of Chemistry. The project at the beginning functioned as a series of stationary popular science lectures, during which participants could listen to important current issues over a cup of something hot. Since March 2020, the lectures have been held remotely, although the 'café' aspect has remained. The organisers encourage you to brew some coffee or tea before the meeting!

The eleventh lecture in the series is 'Friendly credit - is it possible?', which will be given by dr Magdalena Markiewicz from the Faculty of Economics UG. The researcher will answer, among others, the questions 'How not to fall into the credit traps and avoid the debt loop?', 'Should you overpay the credit or maybe wait for better times?', 'What do we need to know about credit schedules, capital, interest, credit collaterals?'.

Dr Magdalena Markiewicz is the Vice Dean for Development and Cooperation with the Social and Economic Environment at the Faculty of Economics. Daily, she conducts with students such classes as investment banking, international finance and secrets of practical banking. Her scientific interests include financial markets, internationalisation of currencies and financial and currency crises.

'In a world of uncertainty and changes in exchange rates and interest rates, living with credit also means a lot of change and having to adapt. At the meeting, we will also talk about emotions connected with credit and the happy ending, i.e. what to do when we repay the credit?' - invites dr Magdalena Markiewicz.
