For the tenth time, the International Association of Insurance Lawyers AIDA invites you to a scientific conference. This time the topic is insurance disputes and ways of solving them. We will find out on June 3 and 4 at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Gdańsk. Registration lasts until April 20.
AIDA is an international association of insurance lawyers. Its objective is to promote and develop international and domestic insurance law. The Polish branch of the organisation is affiliated with Koźmiński University in Warsaw.
One of the activities undertaken by the Polish branch of AIDA is the organisation of scientific conferences. Last year's edition of the event concerned the freedom of contract in determining compensation under AC insurance. This year, it is time for the jubilee, the tenth edition of the conference. Its leading theme is 'Judicial and extrajudicial methods of dispute resolution in insurance'.
Young and more experienced lawyers will be able to speak on this topic. For students, graduates and 'freshly minted' doctoral students, the organisers have prepared a 'Youth Panel'. The 'Practitioners' Forum' awaits lawyers with more experience. It will be attended, among others, by representatives of the insurance business world.
The conference will also include classic thematic panels. They will concern, among others, with the issue of jurisdiction in insurance cases, dispute resolution at the stage of liquidation proceedings, ADR (alternative dispute resolution) in insurance relations and judicial resolution of insurance disputes.
Due to the Russian attack on Ukraine, the Polish branch of AIDA has decided to change the venue of the conference. The event will take place between June 3 and 4 at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Gdańsk, a city of solidarity and freedom. - 'The new formula of the conference will allow us to react on an ongoing basis to adapt its course and surroundings to the new conditions. It will also eliminate most of the problems related to the development of the epidemic situation and related transit regulations,' - write the organisers of the event on their website.
We invite both academics and practitioners - brokers, agents, employees of insurance companies and other financial market entities to submit their proposals for papers and presentations or declarations of participation in the event as listeners. The deadline for submitting an abstract of max. 1800 characters (with spaces) expires on April 20, 2022.
