UNIVERSITY OF GDAŃSK IN THE WORLD'S TOP TEN FOR GENDER EQUALITY

According to the international Leiden Ranking, the University of Gdańsk is the 10th university with the highest PA(F|FM) ratio. This means that at UG, the ratio of female authors in scientific publications to the number of all male and female authors is very high at 53.2%.

The Leiden Ranking analyses more than 1,300 research centres from all over the world in terms of science, collaboration, open access publications and gender equality. Among the universities included in the ranking are Harvard University, the University of Toronto and the University of Oxford.

In the 2017-2020 equality classification, the University of Gdańsk is not the only highly ranked Polish university. The Medical University of Białystok ranked first, the Warsaw University of Life Sciences ranked third and the Medical University of Lublin ranked fourth. The fifth position belongs to the University of Life Sciences in Lublin. It is worth mentioning that in eleventh place in the ranking is a new member of the SEA-EU alliance - the Portuguese University of Algarve.
