By the decision of the President of the Republic of Poland, Andrzej Duda, on August 1, 2022, dr hab. Henryk Machajewski, prof. UG, was awarded the title of professor of humanities in the discipline of archaeology. 

Professor Henryk Machajewski is employed at the Department of Prehistoric Archaeology of the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology, Faculty of History, UG.

His research interests include the culture of the Baltic Sea basin communities in the pre-Roman period, the Roman period and the period of migration of peoples.
