The series of meetings with economics is intended to deepen knowledge of economics and the various problems that are described and solved within economic sciences. The Open Economics Lectures are not only a source of reliable knowledge but also an opportunity and inspiration to seek one's own path in life. The fifth edition of the programme implemented by the Faculty of Economics of the University of Gdańsk will open on 11 October with a lecture by dr Sylwia Machowska-Okrój on 'The market through the eyes of economists'.

The Open Economic Lectures are cyclical and take place online. The issues covered in the series are presented in an accessible manner, based on verified and up-to-date data and scientific theory and research, combined with observation of the world.

- 'We recognise the need to spread economic information to a wider audience. The participants of the lectures are people of different ages, pupils, students, graduates and people working in different sectors,' - says dr Magdalena Markiewicz, Vice-Dean for Development and Cooperation with the Social and Economic Environment from WE UG. - 'Regular lectures focus on macro- and micro-economic issues, economic policy, financial markets, corporate finance, entrepreneurship and management, and general socio-economic problems of the modern world.'

For whom:

People of all ages, younger and older, students, teachers, undergraduates, graduates and people working in different sectors can attend the lectures.

• For students and teachers: this is a valuable aid to the topics found in 'Entrepreneurship Fundamentals'.
• For students: an aid to understanding the issues discussed in course lectures and to complement the knowledge studied in other fields.
• For everyone: an explanation of current economic phenomena taking place in the world around us.

In the academic year 2022/2023, the Open Economics Lectures will run from October to May in an online format.
